Happy camper

Went ahead and bought a new lens. That was a good decision. Felt in my gut that it was the right thing to do and stop whining. Picked it up this morning and then we went out to a beach. We've been there several times before and love it. So of course I took oodles of photos. It was such a delight.

I really don't know if the beach itself has a proper name but the rock is called Split Rock, fittingly enough. If you look really close, you can see two people inbetween the rocks ...so that you get a sense of the size of them.

It was low tide. At high tide there's water in between.

On our way back home in the afternoon, we stopped at a height of land to look at it from a distance.
A friendly dog came up and looked at me...

Had a wonderful day altogether. It was so warm, the sea was calm. Brought coffee in a thermos and had yummy sandwiches that we bought. It's night now and raining. Supposedly it will rain tomorrow and Monday, which is holiday here -- Victoria Day.

Revisited

Same beach as a few days ago. We totally fell in love with the place. It seemingly doesn't even have a name. At least, there's no sign. It was vacant. Brought sandwiches 'n stuff and had sort of a little picnic. The fresh, saline air does wonders to one's breathing -- it feels like sinuses and airways get all cleared up! Not that I have any problems otherwise, but still...

Posted this photo from my Twitter client «Destroytwitter». In spite of its silly name, it's the best [for me]. I've tried everyone I've seen being announced. I used to like Digsby but it was too heavy on my system ... even after the upgrade. Then there was this Gmail gadget that I really liked too. I would have been quite happy with that and I had just started using it when this came out. Once I had started DT it was like I couldn't go back, and Twitter became funnier all of a sudden. I've had Twitter almost from the get-go and never paid all that much attention to it.

I think maybe because it got so easy to keep track of it made it better for me. Those little, unintrusive boxes that pop up -- I can turn them off should I so wish -- and I can also set it to «away» so that the canvas freezes. That makes it much easier to catch up with what has happened while I was out.

The sea was angry that day, my friends

If you were an avid Seinfeld fan like me, you'd recognize that sentence ... when George pulled out a golf ball out of the whale.

Mid day, today, the fog lifted and the wind picked up immensely. It was a south westerly wind and I was hoping the surf would be up the way it was on Christmas Day. We drove out to Saints Rest Beach and it was pretty good. Not as Christmas Day, which was an unforgettable experience, but close. It was so windy so it was actually hard to stand still and hold the camera.
