Google Wave
Last Tuesday, I got my eagerly awaited Google Wave invitation.
My opinion of it now, after having used it a few days, is like most other peoples' ...a little confused but basically positive. I do like it, and I'm looking forward to check in there in the morning when I get up.
Right now, while it's still in its early stage and nobody is really certain of the usage of it, it's just a lot of FUN! It's like chatting, when Internet was new to most of us... It's complicated to do the simplest thing, and you must find out exactly how to do a simple search, but once you're starting to get the hang of a few things it gets funnier.
When I first signed in, none of my friends had an account, except the person who invited me and she wasn't online. I somehow found out how to do a public search so that I could see all the waves scrolling by. I was lucky because I found the Swedish Wave and immediately began learning the ropes but I still can't really explain what it is.
I can see several usages for it in the future, when it's public and stable, but I think it's too complicated for the average Internet user. If they want to make it as BIG as it's been predicted, I think a lot of things must be simplified. It's still very early though..
